Lucas Ebeling is a New York City-based drummer and composer known for his expressive foundation in the jazz idiom and his versatile approach to music. Over the past three years, he has played over 300 shows worldwide, collaborating with Grammy-winning artists and recording as both a bandleader and sideman. Lucas tours extensively around the world with his Brooklyn based rock band The Thing, playing headline tours, major festivals and opening for world-class acts.

In NYC his jazz group is quickly gaining momentum in the jazz and underground scenes, curating a new kind of musical experience that builds off community and connection. Audiences often describe Lucas's playing as transcendent, noting its presence and emotional resonance.

Lucas began drums at age 10, playing in bands with his dad and older brother. He started playing professional gigs in Philadelphia at 16 and then received a scholarship to attend NYU. At NYU he studied under music royalty Lenny White, Billy Drummond, John Scofield and Alan Broadbent. Lucas is deeply committed to honoring and representing the legacy of great drummers and composers, past and present, through all of his musical endeavors.
